The Alaskan MKIII Chainsaw Sawmill comes in a variety of sizes for varying bar lengths and is designed to cut lumber, slabs or timbers from your logs. See it in action. The tool consists of a parallel bar that adjusts in varying distances from the chainsaw bar for the desired thickness of material. For instance, for an 8" fireplace mantel first lay an H-style rail along the rounded log surface and cut off the slab, then set the distance between the sawbar and the parallel top bar and proceed to cut the 8" mantel or timber.
