 Shell-Guard RTU is a ready-to-use borate-based wood preservative in a liquid glycol carrier. Shell-Guard RTU wood preservative is colorless, odorless, has a very low level of toxicity to people and pets and is effective for preventing wood decay and insect damage to interior and exterior wood logs and timbers. But since it is ready-to-use, you can pour it right out of the container into your sprayer without the fuss of measuring, mixing and stirring making it perfect for the homeowner to use. Shell-Guard RTU is labeled for control of wood boring insects such as termites, wood boring beetles, carpenter ants, and also wood decay fungi. Besides convenience, other advantages to Shell-Guard RTU include its stability and relatively quick drying time. Your logs and timbers will be ready to stain within one to three days after a Shell-Guard RTU wood preservative application. Once applied, it is permanent as long as the wood remains protected with Lifeline stains. Application: Low pressure sprayer or fine bristle brush. Application Temperature: 40º to 90º F. Coverage: 150-250 sq. ft. per gallon. Surface Prep: Must be clean dry bare wood free of mold and mildew. Drying Time: 1-3 days. Clean up: Soap and Water Shelf Life: 5 years.
