Adzes Used for hewing logs. They differ from axes by having the blade set at right angles to the handle. Two styles: Curved or Flat. Curved for cutting grooves and flat for squaring timbers or smoothing wood surfaces. Swung like an axe or a pick.

Barr Hand Forged Slicks
Oversized chisels used to flatten and smooth large areas of wood for log work and timber frame construction (like a planer). Designed to be worked with two hands and shoulder leverage.
Made from carbon steel, they will take and hold a fine edge without being brittle. The handle angles away from your work to create more hand clearance. Shown from left: Small, Large, and Scarf Slicks.
