Scribers are the tools used to mark the contour of the bottom log onto the top log for removal of wood for the "fitted" or "scribe-fit" style log home.

Log Meister II Scriber
Designed for those who want a side-mounted bubble level version of the original Log Meister. Made in the USA.

For Best Results:
Use with Lumocolor Permanent Fine Point Marker, Veritas Ink Pencil, or Sanford Noblot Ink Pencil. To use marker, remove collet and inset marker into Pen Holder, tip first. Two markers may be used and are suggested. (If top marker begins to dry out, invert tool to bring bottom marker to top. The see through vial works in both directions.) Scriber may be used horizontally by rotating vials 90 degrees. Pay special attention to flange on collets. The thin flange fits the Stainless Steel Stylus, medium flange fits Veritas Pencil, thick flange fits Sanford Noblot Ink Pencil. Extra collets may be obtained for double pencil operation.

Mackie Scriber
This scriber was designed by the intellectual B. Allan Mackie, world renown log builder, instructor, and lecturer. This scriber has many features which adapt it specifically as a log building scriber. The main body is constructed of aluminum, the point and axis rod of stainless steel, and the nuts and bolts of brass. These metals feature durability, sturdiness and resistance to corrosion. Other features are capability of using full length pencil and steel point at either straight or 24 degree angles and dual vial bubbles. These bubbles are visible from top, side and bottom for an overhead, eye-level or low scribe. A cut-out on one side of the rotating level unit allows it to be functional for left or right handed scribing as well as vertical and horizontal scribing. All these features make this a premium quality log scriber with many benefits for the log builder. If using with Lumocolor Pens order seperate collet.

Starrett Scriber
The rigidity, light-weight, and easy handling advantages of the Starrett divider make it the favourite of log builders everywhere! The features of this divider include steel construction, forged legs, quadrant, knurled lock nuts and tempered points. This sturdy construction overcomes the possibility of the legs moving with the grain when scribing. The dual vial bubble attachment is fully adjustable. FISHER Plotter Pens Unlike ordinary ball pens which rely on gravity to feed ink, the cartridge is pressurized. At nearly 50 lbs. per square inch, ink is continuously fed to the tungsten carbide ball, allowing the user to write at any angle, even upside down. The ink is also reported to write on wet wood, sap, bar oil, and even works underwater (for those really adventurous log builders).
