Open Cell Backer Rod is recommended for indoor log home applications only. It is easy to install (softer, more pliable than closed cell backer rod). Open Cell Backer Rod will compress more to fit a wider range of joint sizes and allows a faster cure of caulk and chinking. Open Cell Backer Rod will not cause outgassing, which can cause blisters; if the caulk or chinking sealant is punctured, open cell can absorb moisture. Open Cell Backer Rod is available by the bale in sizes ranging from 3/8" to 2" (see options below). Made in the USA.
