Coverage: 250-400 sq. ft. per gal.
Cleanup: Soap and water.
Storage: Room temperature storage recommended, but PolySeal can endure 5 freeze/thaw cycles.
LOG HOMES WALLS - wait through a heating season and 1 year or more (depending on the diameter and the degree of dryness of the logs) before applying PolySeal. If applied over green logs, moisture related wood and coating discoloration and coating problems can occur such as subsurface mold and mildew, chemical discoloration (coffee stains), blushing, and peeling of the coating. If logs are kiln dried to 20% moisture content or below, a year waiting period is not necessary and application of PolySeal can occur once the home is erected.
WOOD FLOORS - Floors boards must be kiln dried, otherwise wait until floor boards are dry below 18%. For best appearance, applicators designed for applying water-based wood floor varnishes are recommended. Otherwise use a quality synthetic bristle. Care must be taken to avoid unevenness and lap marks. Work at a constant medium rate tempo. Apply in even strokes and avoid excessive back brushing. To prevent lap marks during application, always start approximately 12"-18" from where the last application ended and work back to and feather in the overlap. If possible, always coat entire sections of flooring nonstop and avoid partial overlap on adjacent boards. Otherwise lap marks, especially when applying colors, will be difficult to avoid. 4 coats is preferred for best appearance and performance. Allow each coat to dry tack free a minimum of 2 and preferably 3 hours (70° F [21°C] and moderate humidity) before applying subsequent coats. Wipe with a lint free damp cloth between coats to insure a particle free surface. Wait 24 hours after completion before placing furniture and allowing light foot traffic. Full hard cure of PolySeal can take up to 14 days. When used on wood floors, wipe up any spills right away.
