Sansin Classic 1-2-3 Log Finish - Since the mid 1980s, The Sansin Corporation has pioneered water borne wood coatings with the development of Sansin Classic, their signature product. Sansin Classic is a time-proven three coat formulation. It is a waterborne, natural oil finish that penetrates deeply and bonds with the wood cells to create long lasting and easily maintained log home wood protection. Sansin Classic's base of modified natural oils is carried into the wood by a commonplace miracle of nature - water. In this way, all Sansin enviro stains are able to migrate into wood of variable moisture content (moisture over 19%) and create a breathable water repellent, UV, and weather protective shield. Sansin Classic is designed for vertical wood surfaces, offering protection for: Log Homes, Siding, Fences, Old & New Wood, and Exterior Vertical Surfaces. Made in Canada.
Sansin recently launched an enhanced formula for its flagship Classic 1-2-3 wood protection system, which is specifically developed for logs and big timbers. Because of its penetrating nature, Classic 1-2-3 can dive deeper into the wood and help stabilize it while preventing cracking and checking as the logs dry out. The system creates a natural, low-luster finish in three formulas that will lighten, not go dark, over time:
- Classic 1: The first coat when natural wood tones are desired. For clear, light wood tones, use Sansin Foundation Classic as the first coat.
- Classic 2: The second coat. Tone to the Naturals color for lighter colors and increased clarity. Sansin Classic 2 Natural color formula may be reduced by up to half when Sansin Foundation Classic is used as the first coat.
- Classic 3: The final coat in the Sansin Classic system.
- MAINTENANCE: Use Classic 3 or Classic Naturals Topcoat for long term protection and beauty. Notes: Sansin Naturals Topcoat works with both Naturals and Translucents but has a slight amber tint to it. For very light Translucent colors like Pickled White, Washed White, Parchment, etc. use Classic 3 tinted at 20% of it's color. Naturals Topcoat is very thick and should be mixed with a paddle mixer for best results.
