Transformation Log & Timber Flex Tint Log Stain by Sashco allows for custom tinting! Use the equivelent of one full catridge of color per 5 gallon pail or 1/5 per 1 gallon pail i.e. you could mix half of one color with half of another for a custom 5 gallon color. If making a custom color keep in mind you are in charge of the final color. And box box box to ensure a consistent color every time.
USE ONLY Transformation Flex Tint Color Cartridges with Transformation Flex Tint Bases below. Inject color cartridge(s) with a quart size caulk gun and mix completely with a drill driven paddle mixer (3-5 minutes or until evenly dispersed) at the jobsite. Do not use Flex Tint base without adding color, even as a maintenance coat - the UV protection is primarily in the color cartridges. Do not add Flex Tint colors to other products.

||3 coats are required for Natural & 2 coats required for all other Transformation Log & Timber colors.
||1st Coat: 150-250; 2nd Coat: 300-500 sq. ft. per gal.
||Brush or Spray, back-brushing required for best results.
||It will adhere to almost any surface that is properly prepped. Be aware that any product already on the wood that contains waxes, non-drying oils, silicones, or anything that forms thick layers on the wood, can interfere with the adhesion and penetration of any stain, and must first be removed. See Technical Data for details.
||Allow 1st coat to thoroughly dry for 24 hours (possibly longer in cold and/or humid weather) before applying additional coat.
||Passes 5 freeze-thaw cycles but best to store color tube cartridges @ 50-90°F. Once a Flex Tint Cartridge is open, it can be stored for 6 months, max. If Flex Tint is thickened to the point of difficult extrusion, it’s no good and should be discarded. To store an open cartridge, cover the nub with foil and a rubber band.
|For Restoration: From left to right, the spindles show previously stained, weathered wood, the preparation steps and 2 coats each of Transformation color on the extreme right of each spindle. The "Natural" spindle has 3 coats because lighter colored stains have less pigmentation, they don't hold up as well to UV degradation so 3 coats of Natural color are required.
|For New Construction: The wood samples show 2 coats of Transformation low VOC on "New Construction" wood - wood that has no previous coatings.
